  • Gale Virtual Reference Library  
      
    Start Here. Database of dozens of encyclopedias and other reference works. Includes Encyclopedia Judaica, Encyclopedia of Religion, New Catholic Encyclopedia and more.
  • Credo Reference  
      
    Very broad collection of relatively small reference works. Use this to look up facts, dates, events, and miscellanea.
  • Encyclopaedia Britannica  
    Great general encyclopedia. Online version has cool add-ons as well.
  • Blackwell Reference Online  
    Blackwell companions and guides across the disciplines. Great for reviews of the scholarly literature.
  • Oxford Reference Online  
      
    Large database of classic Oxford reference works, including Encyclopedia of the Middle Ages, Oxford Dictionary of Byzantium, Oxford Encyclopedia of the Reformation, and Oxford Companion to Philosophy.
  • Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy  
      
    Most authoritative encyclopedia of philosophy. Great content and great interface.
