What is Symplectic Elements?

Elements is a research information management system (RIMS). It is produced by a company called Symplectic. Elements and other RIMS allow researchers and scholars to document their publications and scholarly activities. Elements is:

  • A single source of publication data that can be repurposed for any internal or external reporting required e.g. ARoFA, Biosketch.
  • A tool that can be used to automatically populate staff members' profile pages on departmental webistes.  A future goal is to use Elements data to feed an institutional repository.
  • An aggregator of data from otherwise disparate information sources such as SSRN, Web of Science, and Google Books.
