Quick Search

  • Oxford Reference Online: Classics
Look here for people, places, dates, events, and definitions concerning the ancient Greco-Roman world. Includes Oxford Classics Dictionary and Grove Encyclopedia of Classical Art and Architecture.
  • Blackwell Companions: Classics
Includes nineteen Blackwell companions covering literature, history, religion, and philosophy of the Greco-Roman world. Great scholarship, great sources.
  • Cambridge Companions Online
Online versions of the famed Cambridge Companions anthologies. Lots of content on the Greeks and Romans: literature, philosophy, and history.
  • l'Annee Philologique Online
Premier database for Classical Studies but it's also a tricky database to use. Novice searchers should not start with this. Citations only, to find complete articles use the "Find Journals" tab.
  • New Pauly
English edition of the premier reference work for scholars of the ancient world. The online version includes the full-text of the published print version and is automatically updated when a new volume is published. The complete original German edition is also available online.
