Welcome to the Temple University Research Guide for Black Classical Composers.  The creation of this guide was inspired by the symposium organized by Dr. Richard Greene, "Black Classical Composers: Talent to be Known," held at the Free Library of Philadelphia on October 30th, 2011.  Like the symposium, the purpose of this guide is to raise awareness of the repertoire of Black classical composers, so that this vast, beautiful, and neglected repertoire can come to life.

NOTE:  Online resources indicated with an asterisk (*), are available only to Temple University authorized users.

Please enjoy the guide.  I welcome comments, suggestions, and questions.
