About Scanning at Temple University Libraries
The Libraries have scanners available for converting text or images to computer files. Most of the scanners are attached to computers, but more freestanding scanners are being added over time.
This guide includes information about the location of both scanners and microform/microfilm readers/printers that have the capacity to scan microform documents.
What else do you need to know about scanning?
1) There is never any fee for scanning at the Temple Libraries.
2) Copyright laws apply to scanning as well as photocopying. It is illegal to scan copyrighted works in their entirety. Please be aware of copyright law when scanning documents.
3) All computers with scanners are prioritized for scanning. If you need to scan and another student is using the scanning station for something other than scanning, ask a library staff member for assistance. All library staff members will ask another student to vacate a scanning station for those who want to use the scanning equipment.
4) If you need assistance in scanning text or images, go to a library service desk and ask for assistance. Please know that assistance with scanning may not be available all the hours the libraries are open.
