Finding Journal Articles in Music
To find journal articles in music, click on the "Databases" tab above and use databases such as JSTOR, Music Index, or RILM to find articles directly related to your topic or interest.
Once you have identified articles of interest, then check Journal Finder to see if Temple University carries the journal electronically. Enter the title or the ISSN of the journal (be careful NOT to enter the title of the article!), and pay particular attention to the date of the citation and the dates of availability of the electronic copies as well as the paper copies. Journal Finder will locate journals carried electronically by Temple University Libraries as well as paper copies in the Library. If Journal Finder does not locate the journal, then doubecheck the Diamond online catalog for paper copies.
If the journal is not carried by Temple University Libraries electronically or in paper, then request the article on Interlibrary Loan. You will receive in your email a link and a password that will allow you access to a pdf copy of the article. Interlibrary loan requests are usually filled within 5 business days.
