Symplectic Elements: Home

What is Symplectic Elements?

Elements is a research information management system (RIMS). It is produced by a company called Symplectic. Elements and other RIMS allow researchers and scholars to document their publications and scholarly activities. Elements is:

  • An aggregator of data from otherwise disparate information sources such as, local university databases and bibliographic databases like Scopus, Web of Science, SSRN, and Google Books.
  • A single source of publication and faculty activity data that can be repurposed for various uses.
  • A tool that can be used to automatically populate faculty profile pages on departmental websites.
  • A source that can be used to feed an open access institutional repository of  research outputs.
