I recently met Dr. Jeni Stolow and am thrilled that she so graciously accepted my request for her to speak on infodemiology!
Dr. Jeni Stolow is a new faculty member in the SBS Department. Dr. Stolow works at the intersection of medical anthropology, public health, and infectious disease outbreak response.
Her past research has included Zika virus, Ebola virus, and maternal-child health.
Dr. Stolow is currently responding to the COVID-19 pandemic as the World Health Organization’s Global Outbreak Alert & Response Network (GOARN) Research Focal Point for Risk Communication and Community Engagement.
She spoke on October 8, 2020 on the concept of "infodemiology" and the role information, misinformation, disinformation, and social media play in the current COVID-19 pandemic. A recording is available.
