3-D Printing: About the Makerbot Replicator 5th Generation

The current 3D printer available at Ginsburg Library is the Makerbot Replicator 5th Generation. 

Process

The Makerbot uses an extrusion method of printing where one layers of plastic are printed one by one to build the printed model.

Filament

The Marketbot uses a Polylactice Acid, or PLA filament. PLA is a corn-based material. The Ginsburg Library currently has five different colors available for printing. The color availability is subject to change.

Current color list: clear, black, red, grey, white.
