The following Temple databases index and in most cases provide full-text access to peer-reviewed journals, general interest magazines, newspapers and newsletters, pamphlets, and reports highly relevant to LGBT Studies.

LGBT Life provides abstracting and indexing for more than 130 LGBT-specific core periodicals and over 290 LGBT-specific core books and reference works. Full text for 50 of the most important and historically significant LGBT journals, magazines and regional newspapers is included. LGBT Life offers comprehensive coverage of traditional academic, cultural, lifestyle, and regional publications, including The Advocate, Lesbian News, Washington Blade, Bay Area Reporter, etc.

GenderWatch
GenderWatch is a full-text database of many different types of publications that focus on the impact of gender across a broad spectrum of subject areas, including history. Covers 1970s to the present.

GenderWatch also contains archival material. It provides an important historical perspective on the evolution of the Women's Movement and the changes in our understanding of gender over the last fifteen to twenty years.

This database indexes nearly 290 alternative, radical and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines that report and analyze the practices and theories of cultural, economic, and political change.

Multi-disciplinary indexes to thousands of art, humanities, and social sciences journals. These databases do not include abstracts but do allow searching by "cited author" and "cited work". In other words, find out who's citing whom.

The ERIC database contains bibliographic records of research reports, conference papers, teaching guides, books, and journal articles relating to the practice of education. ERIC Digests are included.

Historical Abstracts
Provides article abstracts from journal literature on the history and culture of the world, excluding the United States and Canada, from 1450 to the present.

JSTOR This link opens in a new window
JSTOR is the premier scholarly journal archive. The Arts and Sciences I, II, III, IV, and Complement Collections offer full-text access to more than 60 core history journals dating back in some cases to the early twentieth century.
MLA International Bibliography This link opens in a new window
This database covers literary journal articles, books and dissertations back to 1926 and contains over 1.5 million citations from more than 4,400 journals and series and 1,000 book publishers.

Project MUSE
Project MUSE, a joint venture of the Johns Hopkins Press and the Milton S. Eisenhower Library, provides full-text access to the Press's scholarly journals. Over 40 important history titles are included. Coverage begins in 1995.

Particularly useful to the researcher is the ability to search for articles in Project MUSE by standard Library of Congress Subject Headings. The database complements JSTOR.

Most comprehensive tool for psychology research. Contains citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books and technical reports, as well as citations to dissertations.

Social Sciences Index (1907-)
Provides indexing (1907- ) and abstracting (1994- ) for more than 600 key social sciences publications, 200 of which are available full-text.

Social Science Research Network This link opens in a new window
SSRN is a world wide collaborative of leading scholars that is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research. Perform the default keyword search for terms likely to elicit relevant results: "gay", "homosexuality", etc. The database is composed of a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences. Each of SSRN's networks encourages the early distribution of research results by reviewing and publishing submitted abstracts and by soliciting abstracts of top quality research papers around the world. The Networks encourage readers to communicate directly with other subscribers concerning their own and other's research. Through our email abstracting journals we currently reach over 35,000 people in approximately 70 different countries.

SSRN's email abstracting journals cover 100 different subject areas. The Abstract Database contains information on over 76,100 scholarly working papers and forthcoming papers. The Electronic Paper collection currently contains over 52,000 downloadable electronic documents in Adobe Acrobat pdf format.
