Historical Abstracts is the main database for finding articles on history outside of North America.  For scholarly sources on North American historical topics, use America: History and Life.

 

World History Collection is a database of about 150 full-text journals on historical perspectives.

Europa World is useful for an overview of a country from both an economic and a political history standpoint. It gives fairly current statistics for a country.

Web of Science finds articles from the most cited, or "most-referred to" academic journals-- which usually means they are also the most important journals in their fields of study.

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts is a database that points you to scholarly articles with a large number coming from European journals.

Web of Science indexes the most-cited or "most referred to" academic journals.
