Citation Tracking Tools

Citation tracking tools allow you to find out when your article(s) are cited and to find the most cited articles in your field. 

 

Article-Level Web of Science Citation Alert

A citation alert will email you each time your article indexed in Web of Science is cited in Web of Science.

1. Create an account in Web of Science. 

2. Search for your article.

3. Click on your article in the search results.

4. Click on Create Citation Alert.

 

Author-Level Web of Science Citation Alert

An author-level citation alert will email you each time an article you have written that is indexed in Web of Science is cited in Web of Science.

1. Create an account in Web of Science. 

2. Click on Cited Reference Search.

3. Search using Cited Author option.

4. Choose authors and click finish search.

5. Click on Create Citation Alert.

 

 

Google Scholar Citation Alert

 

Create an account in Google Scholar and fill out your profile.

To be alerted when any of your articles are cited:

Click on follow from profile page

To be alerted when a specific article is cited:

Search for the article title

Click on cited by

Click on create alert on the left of the screen
