About

The Lulzbot Taz 6 is an open source 3D printer. It is built specifically to answer the needs of a new age of prototyper. Its capability to print at temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius, makes it the maker's Swiss Army tool. With this printer, users can utilize a variety of materials in their prints, even the notoriously difficult Nylon filaments.

Materials

Ginsburg Library has 3 types of filaments available with this printer. PLA and ABS are both common materials used in FDM 3D Printing. They are readily available and make great thermoplastics for rapid prototyping. TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) plastics are also available. These plastics have rubber or silicone like properties making them great for any application where flexibility is desired.

PLA and ABS plastic are considered standard filaments while specialty filaments like TPU and Certain ABS and PLA plastics are considered non-standard. Standard filaments will be available for free up to 50 grams and Non-standard filaments are available at the standard rate of $0.20/gram.
