Use Library Search to find which books, journal titles and other materials are available in the TU library collections.
Use the Subject search to locate books about ethnic groups in general, or about specific ethnic groups; for books in general, use ETHNICITY or EMMIGRATION AND IMMIGRATION -- UNITED STATES as a search term; for books about specific groups in America, in most cases, use the name of the group followed by the word AMERICANS. Refer to the box on the left side of this page for a list of Library of Congress subject headings for ethnic American groups; clicking on the subject heading will take you in to LIBRARY SEARCH for a list of subheadings for the group.
To locate books not available from TU Libraries, use a union catalog, which is a catalog containing the catalog records of many different library catalogs (For example WorldCat):

Many books, articles, and dissertations about ethnic American groups are available full-text in the eHRAF database. To locate a publication within eHRAF use basic searching or browsing.
The Library of Congress procedure for creating subject headings for ethnic American groups is to follow the name of the group with the word Americans; for example, German Americans, or Panamanian Americans. This is not true in all cases, notably with Native American groups and Jews. Refer to the list below. Click on the subject heading for a list of books with that subject.
