Citatlon Styles

Different disciplines have different preferred citation styles. Your professor will let you know what style you will use for the class. See our Citing Sources guide for links to resources on other styles, such as Chicago and MLA.

APA style is broadly used in the social sciences, and MLA in the humanities. Chicago style is the norm in Anthropology (author-date format), History (note format), and in some subfields of Political Science (APSA, a derivitive of Chicago author-date format).
