Tokyo Libraries and Bookstores

Kinokuniya is a bookstore chain with a large English-language bookstore located near Shinjuku station. 

Maruzen is a bookstore chain and has two locations with significant English-language books:

• Maruzen Marunouchi (west of Tokyo Station)
• Maruzen Nihonbashi (east of Tokyo Station)

Jimbocho is known as Tokyo's center for the second-hand book trade as well as the corporate office location for many Japanese publishers. There are an estimated 200 bookstores in this area with some specializing in English, French, German, and Russian books.

Much of the members of The Antiquarian Booksellers Association of Japan are located in this neighborhood and members work together assist with tracking down rare titles.

Infinity Books has thousands of new and used English books as well as a specialization in hard to find, out of print, used, and other rare books. The store is located in Asakusa.
