Living for Change: GSWS 0863

This guide is for students in Living for Change (GSWS 0863). Use the resources and information on this guide to help with research on radical women in Philadelphia, and to find sources for your final research paper.

Start with Library Search

Library Search is the best place to start your research on a specific person. Library Search allows you to discover books, scholarly articles, films, music, dissertations, archival material and more in the Temple Libraries collection.

Search Tips

To get the best results for your radical woman, try these tips:

  • search for your person as both a keyword and an author in order to find sources both about them and by them
  • put your person's name in quotation marks (i.e., "Ramona Africa") to get the most relevant results
  • look for sources not just about your specific person, but about the organizations she is affiliated with, other activists in the same movement, context about Philadelphia during the time period, etc.
