The Common Good: Intellectual Heritage 0852

Professor Katie Brennan

Background / Overviews

What kind of sources should I look for?

In contrast to most of the other works in this course, Borderlands is a contemporary work, originally published in 1987. Relevant sources might be found in journals, newspapers, magazines, or encyclopedias. Look for book reviews, brief biographies, encyclopedia articles, or more critical analyses of the author and her work (mainly in journal articles).

Remember, your research purpose is to find sources that help you to provide a classroom introduction to Borderlands.

A simple but effective search strategy is to use the title of the book (borderlands) and author last name (anzaldua) together in a search: boderlands and anzaldua.
