Introducing the Digital Humanities

This guide provides a list of resources and brief descriptions of several varying areas that encompass the digital humanities.

What is Mapping and Geographic Information Systems(GIS)?

There are many digital humanities projects that work with maps and geographic information.  Mapping can refer to more simplistic manipulations of geographic representations, such as pinning locations or tracing the path of historic events or actors to a digital map.  GIS in the digital humanities relies on analyzing and visualizing geospatial data.
