Find Children's Literature

Children’s books, also known as juvenile literature, are located in two different areas on the 4th floor of Charles Library:

• Location: 4th floor, Charles Library, Northeast corner, near the faculty and graduate study lounge.
• About the Collection: Funded by Dr. Paul and Mrs. Harriette Newman Hirsch, this collection includes over 2,000 works of children’s literature.

Location: 4th Floor, Charles Library, northwest corner, Half-height shelves near (the other side of) the faculty and graduate study lounge, separate from the Hirsch Collection.

• Kardon (Remote Storage): Contains a small number of older, outdated materials. Items must be requested.
• Special Collections & Blockson Afro-American Collection (Sullivan Hall): Includes rare and unique children’s books; Items must be requested. 
• Ambler Library: Houses additional juvenile literature.
• Leisure Collection (1st Floor, Charles Library): Includes some Young Adult (YA) books.
• Online: Temple Libraries has access to thousands of Juvenile ebooks.
