The American Bar Association and allied organizations have acknowledged the challenges to health and well-being for legal professionals. In 2017, a collection of professional associations formed the National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being. This group researched and issued the report, "The Path to Lawyer Well-Being: Practical Recommendations for Positive Change." The report recognized the elements of toxicity in the legal profession, how this has the potential to affect justice and client service, and proposed actions to integrate well-being into the profession.
