What is Qualtrics?

Qualtrics is an easy-to-use, web-based survey tool available to students, faculty, and staff at certain Temple University schools and colleges. Use Qualtrics to create and distribute surveys, analyze responses, and gain valuable insights.

Institutional Review Board
Surveys are human subjects research and require review and approval by Temple University's Institutional Review Board.
Surveys at Temple
Temple constituents interested in administering a survey within the university community are required to apply for approval from the Temple University Survey Coordinating Committee prior to conducting their research. This Temple University Institutional Research and Assessment webpage has more details.

What data can be collected?

According to the College of Liberal Arts and College of Public Health Qualtrics portals:

Temple University Qualtrics is intended for non-commercial and academic research use only.
Data classified as ‘unrestricted’ or ‘sensitive’ may be collected in the College of Liberal Arts and College of Public Health Qualtrics systems.
Data deemed ‘confidential’ may not be collected via Qualtrics.

REDCap data collection system is HIPPA-compliant and approved for collecting clinical data and Personal Health Information. See the Libraries' guide to Using REDCap for details.
