Designing Subtitles for 360° Content
"Here at BBC R&D we have been exploring the possibilities of immersive forms of content including 360° video and virtual reality (VR) where the viewer can look in any direction."

Progressing Towards an Accessible VR Experience
"Over this past summer, we began user testing to determine barriers to access for deaf/hard of hearing users and those with visual impairments. Temple Disability Resources and Services provided aid by allowing us to use their list servs. We were able to solicit volunteers to come in for interviews and attempted use of VR. Initial testing showed issues that went beyond the technological medium, leading us to further consider onboarding and service policy."

Usability

Usability testing refers to evaluating a product or service by testing it with representative users. Typically, during a test, participants will try to complete typical tasks while observers watch, listen and takes notes.  The goal is to identify any usability problems, collect qualitative and quantitative data and determine the participant's satisfaction with the product.
