What's the difference between Development and Production? It is a bit confusing, because you can collect survey responses both when the project is in development (pre-production) and once it is in production. The main difference is that in production you cannot easily change fields in the survey, you will need to request help from an administrator. This is meant to ensure that users don't change fields mid-study (either accidentally or intentionally) that might potentially change the validity of the data or analysis, and to keep track of any changes you do make.
If you've tested everything and are ready to collect data for your study, then you should move it to production, but you don't actually need to do that in order to collect survey data.
