Qualitative Data Analysis and QDA Tools

Information for Temple students, researchers, and instructors interested in conducting qualitative data analysis

Transcription software

Researchers may transcribe interviews manually, and there are also resources that can be used to speed up the transcription process with good to about 90% accuracy.  Always review, edit, and structure your transcript before importing into a QDA tool. Check documentation to see if auto transcribed files may be imported directly into the QDA program.

Automated transcription may involve having data on the internet or with a third party and should be used with caution if your audio has any personal or sensitive information. Check your organization data security and IRB policies.  For more information visit our library Research Data Management guide.
