Course Reserves for Instructors

This guide will introduce you to the libraries' course reserves program, which you can use to make your course materials freely available to students. Have questions about reserves? Email us at preserve@temple.edu.

Manual entry

You might want to add materials to your list that the library does not own, and thus do not show up in library search. You can manually enter the information for these items. There are several ways we can fulfill requests for materials we do not own. See the "Frequently asked questions" section for details on each.

Click the "Add" button and then click "Manual entry."

On the first page, you'll select the type of source from the drop down menu and enter the item's title. If you have a file (such as your own PDF), you can upload it here, but it's not required. Click "Next" when done.

On the next page, enter as much information as you can about the item. The more detail you provide, the easier it will be for the library to identify and locate your request. Click "Next" when done.

On the last page, you can choose the section of the list where the item will appear. You can also add a note to students, a due date, and/or a tag (required, optional, etc) to the item.

Click "Add" when you're done to add the item to your reading list.
