Course Reserves for Instructors

This guide will introduce you to the libraries' course reserves program, which you can use to make your course materials freely available to students. Have questions about reserves? Email us at preserve@temple.edu.

Analytics

The course reserves software collects data on student usage of the materials on your reading list.

Usage statistics are calculated against the number of students enrolled in the course. Thus, to take advantage of this feature, you first need to make sure this number is accurate.

Click on the three dots to the right of "List info" on the top of the page. Click "Manage Link to Course." In the window that appears, click the three dots to the right of the course name. Enter the number of students enrolled in your course. You can change this anytime as students add or drop the course.

To access analytics, click the bar graph icon on the far right side of the screen. You'll see a wide array of statistics about list usage and item usage.

The system only collects data for items accessed via the course reserves page. To ensure accurate data, make sure that the only place students can access items is via course reserves (do not link items in modules, etc).
